Steps to Renting from Realty Shop & Property Management
1. Schedule a showing
To schedule a showing call our office during business hours at (910) 750-7780. We will try our best to accommodate same day showings, however it is best to contact us a day or more prior to the time you would like to schedule the showings. Our office is closed on the weekends however we are able to schedule showings for most Saturdays. If you contact us on a weekend or holiday we will not be able to respond to your request until the next business day. We recommend that you drive by and see the outside of the property before scheduling a showing. This will save you time by reducing the chance that you will not like the home or the area once you arrive and decide not to go inside.
2. Fill out an Application
After viewing the inside of the property you can then complete an application online by simply clicking on the “View Details” tab on the property you wish to rent. Then click “Apply Now” which is located on the top left.
Every person who is planning to live in the property must fill out a separate application and each must pay the $40 application fee (unless married).
Applications will NOT be processed until fees have been received AND all of the information is complete.
APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS YOU (or someone you have designated) HAVE SEEN THE INSIDE OF THE PROPERTY.
3. Realty Shop & Property Management will now process your application
Common delays are:
Submitting an incomplete application or providing inaccurate information.
Difficulty obtaining a rental reference from your current Landlord.
4. Sign a Lease
A lease signing will be scheduled no later than 2 business days following approval of your application and the receipt of the Security Deposit. Please Note: Security deposit is due prior to lease signing and must be certified funds. We can email you the lease to be reviewed and signed electronically.
5. Establish Utilities in Your Name
We will provide you the list of applicable utilities. It is your responsibility to ensure they are in your name on the day your lease begins.
6. Pick up your keys!
On your move-in day, you will pick up your keys and your move-in information packet from a staff member of Realty Shop & Property Management. Your first month’s rent is due at this time and any remaining fees.
